Ocean Camp

at Earth Day Mobile Bay

Ocean Camp's creator, certified marine educator and public school teacher, Belinda Ringpfeil, hopes to promote the area's beautiful coastal towns by providing local children and vacationing families a new kind of summer experience, wet and watery marine discoveries. Hands-on activities, inquiry, research, problem-solving and critical-thinking are all part of the camp curriculum which is based on Ocean Literacy principles.


Each week, camp will include a guest speaker from the field or local special events. Each topic will include opportunities to address the oil spill cause and effect issues in the Gulf of Mexico. Campers' use of reusable materials in project building and ocean pollution issues will call attention to environmentally responsible topics.
