Middle Earth Healing and Learning Ctr.

Middle Earth Healing and Learning Center, located at 20205 Middle Earth Road in Citronelle Alabama, is an evolving education center modeling permaculture, sustainable living, and the interconnection of the health of the planet and the health of her inhabitants.

As a healing center, Middle Earth offers holistic consultations and classes in energy work and color therapy, guidance in the use of essential oils and flower essences, and a quiet place to retreat. For longer retreats the Solar Hermitage off grid intern residence is available, as is tent camping. There is a labyrinth for walking meditation and spiritual reflection, and walking trails throughout the pine and hardwood forest.

As a learning center, Middle Earth offers workshops in permaculture, shiitake mushroom cultivation, solar energy, rainwater collection and other sustainable practices. The Center harvests rainwater for greenhouse and organic/bio-dynamic gardens irrigation. The residence is a passive solar design and uses grid-tied photovoltaic panels for electricity generation, solar hot water panels for hot water, and a geothermal heating and cooling system. The electricity for the Solar Hermitage and the greenhouses is supplied entirely by solar panels.
